Got cabin fever? Restaurants are still open, so why not treat yourself over the Easter weekend.

The Tai Pan at The Murray is bringing back its Eggstravagant Murray Brunch (HK$798) on April 12.

The semi-buffet begins with freshly shucked French oysters and soft poached eggs served tableside. Then help yourself to a selection of culinary delights ranging from crisp salads and cold cuts to carvery delicacies and barbecued specialties.

Made-to-order main courses include poached Angus beef short ribs, crispy piri-piri pork belly, pan-seared barramundi and spring pea risotto.

For the kids, apart from enjoying Easter-themed desserts, they can also join face painting and balloon-twisting activities on the terrace.

Across the harbor, The Kowloon Hotel’s Window Cafe is the perfect destination for a meal after some outdoor festivities.

The eatery’s lunch and dinner buffet (from HK$378) features teppanyaki-style wagyu beef with rock salt and soft boiled egg with caviar and green pea puree as well as desserts such as tiramisu served in a large chocolate egg, mini chick macarons and smiley hot cakes.

Apart from the Easter dishes, food connoisseurs will enjoy the array of international cuisine, ranging from bird’s nest and mango lobster salad to assorted cold seafood and a live carving station. A daytime Easter cooking workshop will teach kids how to make rabbit cupcakes, a turtle pizza with egg and crab roe or a potted plant serradura.

If you can’t get out of bed in time for brunch, there’s always tea.

Australian restaurant Hue is offering a special Easter afternoon tea set (HK$680) with gorgeous panoramic views.

Available from 3.30pm to 5pm on April 11 to 13, the set features sweet and savory delights – such as the house-made Ray’s scones served with orange and thyme marmalade, raspberry rhubarb jam and vanilla cream – with a choice of tea or coffee. Other teatime treats include the Easter staple – freshly baked hot cross buns – and dark chocolate drinks.

The Butterfly Room at Rosewood will also offer a festive afternoon tea set inspired by all things spring from April 10 to 13.

The five-course experience (HK$920) begins on a savory note with canapes such as parsley sponge cake, marinated hamachi and trout roe, which pave the way for freshly baked goods – scones and madeleines – before the dessert trolleys are wheeled out.

Chef Holger Deh has also created spring-themed desserts at the eatery’s sister cake shop Butterfly Patisserie, available in store as well as online until April 30.

Decorated with figurines crafted just for the occasion, Easter delights include sakura cake adorned with flowers (HK$698), kalamansi butterfly kisses (HK$228) and chocolate Easter eggs (from HK$168). Pralines (HK$298) and travel cakes (HK$188) also join a medley of classic confections. Free delivery is available for orders above HK$1,000.

Luxury grocers have joined in the celebrations too. Fortnum & Mason’s in-house restaurant, 181, will be creating a special children’s afternoon tea Easter plate (HK$288). Available from April 10 to 12, it includes chocolate mousse presented in a chocolate half shell, raspberry pate de fruit and a vanilla cake pop. The piece de resistance is a chocolate-covered cupcake adorned with a large, white bunny biscuit.

If you wish to stay at home instead, the shop’s collection of chocolate eggs, hand-decorated and hand-painted in England, provides an unforgettably sweet feast. Simply crack the gold praline eggs (HK$399) as you would a real egg and enjoy the delicious praline ganache inside.

Can’t make up your mind? Easter hampers (from HK$928) filled with Easter specials, jam and the house’s signature biscuits are also available.

Another British retailer, Marks & Spencer, has also stocked its shelves with Easter goodies.

Apart from the traditional hot cross buns, there are also Easter eggs galore. Standing out from the traditional hollow ones is the fudgy Easter sundae (HK$199), filled with dried berries and gummies or caramel and toffee.
