Feminine prints, soft volumes and bold colors are what Marni’s pre-fall 2020 collection is all about.
Under the theme of fashionable avantcourier, there is often a clash of contrasting elements. Of special note are a black tunic with gold pleats at the waist and an overcoat made with wool plaid and tricotine.
The new collection is characterized by fiery prints, such as manipulated flowers, circles and scribbled boules. The combination of materials such as satin and felt, poplin and gabardine, metallic leather and shearling also form part of the mix-and-match aesthetic.
A key look for the season is the black-and-white pebbles viscose cady dress paired with a shearling shrug. The shrug wraps around the shoulders, adding a twist to the maxi dress that gently flares at the bottom. The outfit is a combination of everything defining the collection: fluid silhouettes, bold prints and mixed fabrics.
The diversity extends to the accessories, which include earrings made of environmentally-friendly materials like resin. Shearling can be found in the slippers, sandals and handbags, segueing nicely into cooler weather.
