I can’t imagine a better place than Zuma in Central to celebrate the festive season, in terms of both food and atmosphere.
My journey began with a Ringo Sour (HK$130) on its open-air terrace, where a pop-up bar with a time-limited drink list to introduce newly-appointed bar manager Lorenzo Coppola.
A selection of snacks was available as stomach liners, and I opted for the edamame with a twist. Its grilled aroma mixes perfectly with Amalfi lemon and shichimi pepper.
Back in the dining area, where an open kitchen releases enchanting aromas, a spicy crab soup with clams mitsuba and yuzu skin is served, followed by toro sushi topped with caviar, wafu sauce and hana hojiso.
The caviar-topped salmon and tuna tartare with rice crackers offers an umami explosion, while the grilled king crab with lime ponzu butter is tender and flavorful.
On the eye-catching dessert platter, the green tea banana cake and chawanmushi were the perfect end to the meal.
Almost every dish mentioned above will be available during Zuma’s offers throughout Christmas, including Christmas Weekend Brunch (from HK$988) and Yashoku Night Brunch (from HK$920), both with 2.5-hour free-flow champagne, and New Year’s Eve Premium Tasting Menu (HK$1,980).
